But the last-minute nature of the call for donations left some in the campaign concerned that they would end up with an empty truck. So the night before the event, campaign aides went to a local Wal Mart and spent $5,000 on granola bars, canned food, and diapers to put on display while they waited for donations to come in, according to one staffer. (The campaign confirmed that it “did donate supplies to the relief effort,” but would not specify how much it spent.)
As supporters lined up to greet the candidate, a young volunteer in a Romney/Ryan t-shirt stood near the tables, his hands cupped around his mouth, shouting, “You need a donation to get in line!”
Empty-handed supporters pled for entrance, with one woman asking, “What if we dropped off our donations up front?”
The volunteer gestured toward a pile of groceries conveniently stacked near the candidate. “Just grab something,” he said.
Two teenage boys retrieved a jar of peanut butter each, and got in line. When it was their turn, they handed their “donations” to Romney. He took them, smiled, and offered an earnest “Thank you.”

Mitt Romney kept quiet last week when the subject was rape and God’s will. He remained silent the week before when the news was all about Illinois factory workers pleading with him to stop his alma mater Bain Capital from offshoring their jobs.
At no time this year did Mitt denounce Republican employers who threatened their workers if President Obama is re-elected or condemn repeated Republican legislative attempts to suppress Democratic votes.
Throughout the campaign, Mitt Romney confronted numerous George Washington moments — opportunities to establish an aura of honor. It takes moxie to tell fellow Republicans that voter suppression is un-American. Only a guy with strongly held principles would stand up to the firm he founded and insist they stop the morally bankrupt practice of offshoring jobs from profit-making American factories. At every turn, Romney chose the ignoble path. He kept his mouth shut rather than speak up for what’s right.

America’s Comeback Team in Nevada
Wow, check out the REALLY bad photoshop job Romney’s team did to make it look like there were more people there. Lots of people/objects appearing twice, obvious jumps where part of the image was copied and slid over, places where the ground suddenly shifts to a new location, a pole that vanishes into thin air, etc.
I guess I shouldn’t be surprised…most of Romney’s lies are just as blatant. Yet people still believe them no matter how much evidence is presented to them.
If you think I altered the image at the top of this post, click through to the source and see it on Romney’s own tumblr page. The only editing I’ll do is below, adding arrows and circling just SOME of the inconsistencies. There are lots more, but I’d be circling them all night if I pointed them all out.
If Romney can’t even be honest in his photographs, how do you expect him to level with you when it comes to the issues? We need a Commander in Chief, not a Desperate Liar in Chief.
They just sort of copied and pasted the same image on top of itself, and erased edges with 0% hardness.
It’s literally the same image twice.
Hell the banner even reads “ROMNMNEY”. Look at it!
This is why I can’t vote for the guy. His campaign, his political background are nothing more than a parade of LIES. That means if he gets into the oval office, I don’t know what sort of person he’ll be.
This is a guy who, back in the 90’s, said abortion was perfectly fine and an important step for women’s rights. That same guy now says it should be made a crime.
This is a guy who’s been known to bankrupt businesses and sell the labor to China for profit. That same guy says our current Commander in Chief knows nothing about business and that he can correct our deficit and save the middle class.
This is a guy who says he loves Big Bird, but wants to cut PBS funding. This is a guy who wants peace and safety, but wants more weapons and troops in Iraq and Iran.
He’s not saying what he means. He’s saying what he thinks people need to hear to want to vote for him. He’s not trying to help anyone. He’s just trying to get the position of power.
And that fucking scares me.

Romney staffers wiped out records in ‘06
- Just before Mitt Romney left the Massachusetts governor’s office and first ran for president, 11 of his top aides purchased their state-issued computer hard drives, and the Romney administration’s e-mails were all wiped from a server, according to interviews and records obtained by the Globe.

If Elected Romney Promises to Borkize the Supreme Court
Mitt Romney gave us ample warning of what he would do to the Supreme Court’s balance when he chose Robert Bork as the head of his judicial advisory team. Bork’s own appointment to the SC received bi-partisan rejection by the Senate in 1987. As a judge, he supported corporate “rights” at the expense of people’s rights any chance he got.
As noted by People For the American WayBork was confirmed to the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals on February 8, 1982. On the bench, Bork turned his authoritarian instincts into a voting record that nearly always favored government when it was challenged by public interest groups, workers or citizens but favored business corporations whenever they challenged the government. If the New Yorker magazine drew a map of Judge Bork’s vision of America, corporations would loom large and vast over the country, the government would be standing beneath them as a military and police force to control the rabble, and citizens would appear as barely visible specks on the bottom of the land.
Just to give us a brief refresher on Bork’s philosophy on Civil Rights, he described the Civil Rights Act of 1964 as a “moral abomination.”
He would send women’s rights back to the dark ages as conveyed by this comment on gender discrimination. “I do think the equal protection clause probably should be kept to things like race and ethnicity.”A Romney court would reverse Roe v. Wade, which comes as no surprise when one considers the views Romney and his sidekick, Paul Ryan, have on reproductive rights. (Think Todd Aikin of “legitimate rape” fame)
As a defender of DOMA, Romney would defend DOMA and seek a constitutional amendment defining marriage as exclusively between 1 man and 1 woman.Romney’s website gives us further warning of his intent to further entrench an extreme right wing activist court.
As president, Mitt will nominate judges in the mold of Chief Justice Roberts and Justices Scalia, Thomas, and Alito.
